19th Century, German Silver Centerpiece 'Bruckmann & Söhne'
This late 19th century silver 800 figural centerpiece was fabricated by the renowned German silversmith 'Bruckmann & Söhne' from Heilbronn. It is crafted in the Rococo style; and presents a two-tiered domed base supported by four curved Rocaille feet. The figural shank consists of a seated putto holding a bay leaf crown in his left hand, a symbol of victory. The centerpiece is hallmarked on the base and underneath the removable bowl with the following four marks: 1. Maker’s mark for Bruckmann & Söhne, 2. Standard quality mark for silver 800, 3. Crescent moon and crown for Germany.

”Bruckmann & Söhne” is one of the oldest and most renowned silver manufactories of Germany. It participated in many national and international exhibitions, such as the 1873 Vienna exhibition, the 1885 Nuremberg exhibition received a Gold Medal.
